Make your own low-fat ranch!

Perfect jars for dressing!
So I found a recipe on pinterest to make your own low-fat ranch using Greek yogurt and low fat milk. I found some jars this weekend at Saver's that will work great and heading to the grocery store tomorrow to pick up all of the ingredients! Yummo! Hope it works out great, I'll post pics of the final product and a link to the recipe!

Bread!

I broke down and had bread today, TWICE!!!! I'm disappointed in myself but I did make it a whole week without eating any bread or sugar. However, the bread was whole wheat from Subway and then I had 2 small pieces of bread from Outback. Normally we don't eat out during the week much less twice in 1 day but today is my husbands birthday. He guilted me into eating cake too, ugghh! I only took two small bites and threw it in the trash. I have eaters remorse even though I didn't gorge or overeat because I am so ready to lose this weight. On a positive note I am down another 1lb but we will see how it goes at weigh in on Friday. Have to go Friday this week since Easter is this weekend and we will be out of town. Drinking lots of water right now hoping I didn't throw everything down the drain for bread. :(

Food Flop!

Mine don't look as nice as the picture either!
One more post! Has this ever happened to you? You find an awesome recipe, from pinterest of course, and you make it with the highest expectations and it turns out to be a g BIG flop! Well....that happened tonight! I followed the recipe and even made them with my kids but the meatloaf cupcakes did not go over well in our household! My 3 year old took 1 bite and spit it back on his plate and my 11 year old had to pile extra mashed potatoes on hers to get them to go down! So needless to say I am not sure I will be making these again! I can't even say I was a big fan of them! I didn't get to smother mine in potatoes so I opted for Siracha sauce to get them down too! Boo to epic fail dinners! Here is the link and you can see how sad mine look compared to the blog I got the recipe from! Hers look so much better!

Meat Loaf Cupcakes

Ouch!

I'm sore! I got in a good 34 minute work out today! I did 34 minutes because on the 17 day diet you are supposed to exercise 17 minutes a day in the first phase (which is very doable!) but I didn't exercise Friday night or Saturday so I doubled up today! I used our treadmill in a few different ways like walking sideways and backwards! It was interesting and challenging, I am already sore and it's only been 2 hours. Wonder how sore I will be in the morning. It feels good to be sore, haven't felt sore in a LONG time!

4lbs GONE on 17 Day Diet!!!

I went to WW this morning and have officially completed 3 days of the 17 Day Diet. Today is day 4 and only 13 more to go until I'm in the next phase. I lost 4 pounds!!!! Hooray, it was an amazing weigh in! I also don't have much of an appetite today. I have been eating and getting full right away! This is all so new for me! I am so excited and motivated to stay on track. We are headed to Disney at the end of May and it would be amazing to be down 40 pounds by then. I know it's wishful thinking and not safe to lose weight that fast and I know better and the 17 Day Diet doesn't promise anything like that but I have 8 weeks before we leave, if I can lose 2 pounds a week that's 16 more pounds which will be a total of 35!! It's possible and completely doable! Yeah!

17 Day Diet

Today I started the 17 day diet. I haven't abandoned WW, I'm just looking for a way to speed up the weight loss and get me past my plateau. The day started out fairly easy and wasn't much different from what I normally eat on a regular WW day. It wasn't until around 1:30 this afternoon I started feeling REALLY bad. I got a really bad headache, I was tired, and I even felt nauseous. After talking to a few co-workers (one of them is doing the Dukan Diet and the other the 17 Day diet) and they explained to me I was experiencing the "detox" part of the diet. I even talked to our school nurse and she told me I was probably experiencing a sugar withdrawal because apparently sugar addiction is real and I suffer from it! So, after eating low carb, low sugar meals all day I don't feel that bad. I started feeling better around 5, had dinner and then went for my 17 minute walk. So far so good, the books states that if I follow the plan for the first 17 days I should be able to lose 10-12lbs...fingers crossed!

Fruit and Cottage Cheese

So I tried those pre-made fruit and cottage cheese snacks in the yogurt aisle. I think they were about 4 points and loaded with sugar and really not that satisfying. But I really love fruit and cottage cheese so I decided to make my own pre-made snacks that I could grab in the morning and throw in my bag for a mid morning snack. I picked up some 2% cottage cheese, the Great Value brand from Wal-Mart, as well as some no sugar added fruit cups. I opted for peaches and pineapple because those are my faves for cottage cheese. I checked the points on the cottage cheese before I bought it and it's 2 points for 1/2 cup. I honestly could eat more than half a cup but that's why I weigh what I weigh! With the new PP in WW all fruit is 0 points. Even fruit cups as long as it's in its own juices and you drain the juice before you eat it. Once I added the fruit to the 1/2c serving it actually looks like more than what it really is. I am excited to have a 2pt snack that looks fresher and yummier than the ones in the yogurt aisle!
